Carpet Drying After Flood in Coello, IL

Carpet Drying After Flood in Coello, IL

Carpet drying after a flood starts with sorting. Not every flooded carpet is the same job. Water from a burst supply line inside the house is clean. Water that came in from outside across soil and pavement is Category 3 under the IICRC S500 standard, and that changes what can be kept.

Coello, IL Wet Carpet Drying handles carpet drying after flood events in Coello, IL by checking the source first. If the carpet was soaked by rising outside water, we remove it and the pad, bag it, and treat and dry the subfloor. That carpet is not safe to keep in a home, no matter how well it dries. If the water was clean and we get there quickly, we extract, lift the carpet and float dry it with air movers under the edge and dehumidifiers running in the closed room.

Timing matters either way. Mould can start growing in wet pad within 24 to 48 hours. Carpet backing starts to loosen after a long soak, which leads to delamination. The faster the water comes out, the more you keep.

We take moisture readings each day until the carpet, pad area and subfloor all read dry, and we log those numbers for your records.
